Why does The Universe bring you back to the same situations?
What happens to all of the inner work you’ve done when you find yourself back in the same old circumstances? Does it just disappear? Do you have to start all over again? ‘Why am I here again?’ you ask yourself.
It’s easy to look at the glass half full when the situation is manageable. “I trust The Universe and I know my Angels will take care of it”. It’s a mantra I use daily that I hope helps you surrender to situations on the daily too. But when the circumstance hits too close… when it’s a circumstance that you have already dealt with; falling into victim mentality and holding resentment towards your situation can feel like the most comfortable place.
I want you to pause in this very moment and take a deep breath. Imagine you are viewing your circumstance from a bird’s eye view, separating yourself from the ‘thing’ and removing all Self attachments. With an open heart, either out loud or in your mind I want you to ask, “What is the Universe trying to teach me?” and then just listen.
No judgement. No control. Just curiosity.
The Universe will bring you back to the same situation when you have more learning to do. Do I believe we have the power to create our circumstances and reality? Absolutely. But let’s not forget that there is a Higher power always working with us, whether you call it God, Buddha, The Universe, Source, etc.
When we are forcing ourselves in a new direction while subconsciously still holding onto the past, we may be blocking ourselves from actually evolving into our blessings that are waiting for us. Deep down we may not believe we are ready or deserving of this new chapter. And so somewhere down the line we find ourselves back in the same situation due to limiting beliefs, fears, or the need to learn more.
Always remember; Your Spirit Guides and Angles are here to assist you along the way. You are never alone.
I want to share with you a personal story that I hope makes you feel seen.
In 2022 I quit my 9-5 and was ready to finally pursue my music and acting career. This has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl, and singing and the dramatic arts will always be apart of me. The craziest thing happened as soon as I quit. My mom sent me another job listing on indeed for a social media marketing position, which was what I had just left. But it was for a travel agency and so I thought ‘hey at least I’d get great deals on some flights’.
As I clicked onto the link she shared, a job posting popped up just underneath the one she sent me. It was an acting position for a dinner theatre show 20 minutes from where I was located. I only thought these types of jobs were found in the city which was the last place I’d want to drive in to during rush hour. Long story short, I got the acting job and was finally making money doing something I actually enjoyed.
Fast forward to today, I’m currently back working in social media marketing and running my business at the same time. For a while I was hard on myself. I couldn’t believe I was back to where I had went away from. I took the last 2 years off to give myself time to know what it was I really wanted to do. The one good thing that came out of this time was that I created this beautiful business I get to pour into and share with you. On the other hand, having so much free time led me to lose my drive and it started to trickle into my business. I struggled with motivation because I had no discipline. Money fears started to kick in and so I went job hunting once more.
I had this revelation the other day while sitting at my desk, and I thought I’d share because I know it will help someone who’s reading this right now and may be going through the same thing. And if you’ve been reading this long then I know this will help you. What if The Universe puts you back into the same situations because you haven’t fully learned your lesson? What if you had to go back to a certain period of your life where you thought you uncovered everything, because there was still more uncovering to do. And the only way to discover that there was more learning was to be back in the same place, only with new perspectives and more inner tools.
I don’t believe you ever go back to square one on your inner work and healing journey. I believe you are already whole and healed as you are right now, and every circumstance brings you the opportunity to add more inner tools to self soothe and grow.
So, at the end of it all; how do you overcome these circumstances and actually learn from them? I have given you a few journal prompts that will help you uncover the lesson you are needing to learn, so that you can move into the next chapter of your life feeling confident and ready.
Be excited that you are here again, it means you get to learn about yourself some more. And what better way to love on yourself then to listen, acknowledge and learn.
Journal Prompts when you’re stuck in the same rut only you’re ready to learn from it:
When was the last time I was in this same situation?
How did I feel the last time vs. how am I feeling right now?
From the last time this happened to where I am now, what did I learn between these two time frames?
What is one good thing about this situation? (Maybe it has to do with an old way you would react, act or not respond at all compared to yourself now, etc.)
What is The Universe trying to tell me by putting me back in this situation?
How can I use this circumstance for my Highest benefit? (Because life is always working for your Highest benefit)
Do I want to stay in this same situation, or do I want to grow from it?
What is one thing I can do right now that will allow this circumstance to work in my favour? (Mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, etc.)
How would my Higher Self show up in this circumstance so that victim mentally is removed completely?
What is my new mantra from this circumstance, and how can I actively practice it each day?
Finish with the affirmation, “All is well. Everything is working out for my Highest Good. Out of this situation only good will come. I am safe” - Louise Hay
